Our Role

Greenfield Demolition were awarded the subcontract package for Buxton Building Contractors. This was our fourth project awarded by Buxton in the space of twelve months.

The works included the strip out and alterations of the Grade II listed building in the heart of London.

Our Scope

• Strip out both structures
• Create openings
• Demolition of the link building between Harley Street and Wigmore Place
• Removal of the roof of Wigmore Place

Challenges:

There were multiple challenges throughout this project. Site logistics, multiple trades, program, contaminated waste, to name a few.

Solutions:

Prior to the project commencing Greenfield representatives worked closely with local suppliers regarding site logistics (delivery and collection times). Greenfield was given a one week head start before following trades started coming on to site so that Buxton were able to achieve their program. 

This project was a great way to start 2018 in such a prestigious area of London.

Scope:

• Removal of cladding from front elevation
• Removal of block work wall from front elevation
• Remove roller shutter door
• Removal of fascia capping and set aside for reuse
• Clear all arisings from site

Camford Construction Management

Site:

Aldi Store, St Mary's Lane, Upminster, London

Our Role:

Greenfield Demolition was awarded the strip out works by Camford to act as subcontractor. This would be our fifth project for DSP / Camford.

Scope:

• Strip out store back to shell
• De-gas and remove refrigeration units
   

Challenge:

The greatest challenge we faced on this project was the time frame given for our program. We had two weeks to get the store stripped back to it's shell as Aldi required the shop to be live as soon as possible. 

Solutions:

We opted to use a skidsteer and 3t excavator to do the bulk of the heavy work to reduce the risk of manual handling.We employed local labour to enable us to work longer shifts and help push the project along. We completed the project on time and within budget.

Greenfield Demolition was awarded the strip out and alterations contract by RB Construction for Unit 20 & 21 The Orchard Shopping Centre where the two units will be merged into one.

This is the third contract completed for R&B Construction Group

Project Review

Greenfield Demolition was awarded the strip out works at Elthorne Primary School by Jerram Falkus Construction to strip a classroom block at a school in Hanwell. This job was to be completed over one phase and we acted as a subcontractor.

This was our first project for Jerram Falkus Construction

Our Scope:

• Strip out classrooms
• Remove partitioning walls
• Remove windows and doors
• Remove ceilings
• Remove M&E equipment

Challenges

Greenfield’s greatest challenge on this project was that the works were carried out on a live school. We had a very tight time-frame to complete our works to allow Jerram to undertake their main works during the school holidays.

Solutions

Greenfield sourced trained local labour to enable us to complete the strip out of the classroom block in the three-day period. Greenfield sourced local suppliers who were able to remove the waste when required and make deliveries accordingly too.

Bonds Building Contractors Ltd

Greenfield Demolition were awarded the demolition package as sub-contractor for the development works at Limpsfield Road, Warlingham by Bonds Builders. This is our first project for Bonds Builders.

The site consisted of a car showroom, an MOT/Garage Station, a gym, and a bungalow to the rear of the site.

Bespoke Modular Developments Ltd

New Cross

Our Role

Greenfield Demolition were awarded as sub-contractor to undertake the demolition works at the former MOT/Garage site in New Cross for our second project for Bespoke Modular Developments Ltd.

• Asbestos Removal
• Soft Strip (including separations)
• Demolition (full)
• Slab and Foundation Removal
• Crush Arisings and Stockpile

Challenges

Our biggest challenge at New Cross was the close proximity to the surrounding neighbouring buildings. Each of the four buildings, three of which were removed in phase 1, had to be carefully demolished/dismantled on the boundary walls. This took one of our most experienced teams to complete within three weeks ahead of program.

Phase two is set to commence late 2018 which will bring a more complex method of demolition with the building being structurally weak. 

Greenfield Demolition have been awarded the strip out contract by Camistar for the Former Lok’n’Store storage three-storey building which is to be converted into a Park’n’Cruise.

Greenfield Demolition was employed by Faircloth Construction to undertake the demolition works of a Homebase, Roaring Meg Retail Park, Stevenage. Greenfield Demolitions scope of works was to disconnect services, strip out warehouse, demolish, grub out slab and foundations and crush all arisings on site

Challenges

The main challenge Greenfield Demolition had to contend with was the close proximity of the neighbouring store. The neighbouring store was situated within 4 metres of the Homebase store.

Solutions

Greenfield overcame this challenge under close supervision and a watchman. We also used our highly experienced machine operator who used a grab attachment to carefully bring the panels safely in a controlled manner into the site.
