Project Overview

The demolition project at Lyons Road was undertaken as part of the redevelopment of redundant police storage depot to provide a new commercial development in the heart of Merton, Surrey. The existing structures, approx. 5400m² combined, had reached the end of its lifecycle and was no longer deemed fit for purpose. The site was situated on an industrial estate in the heart of Merton Abbey.

The site posed many technical requirements, such as party wall separations, working alongside UXO survey teams and working alongside remedial works teams.

Initially the works were down to the top of slab until trial holes discovered contamination beneath the slab which Greenfield assisted with the removal works.

Greenfield’s experience was key to the success of this project.
