Project Description

The building comprised a hotel and conference centre. The structure extended to approximately 4,800m² and exceeded 15 metres at its highest point, requiring a carefully sequenced demolition approach due to its size and proximity to neighbouring residential properties and a nearby school.

These constraints required detailed planning, close coordination, and robust protective measures throughout the demolition process.

Challenges

The project had multiple challenges to consider, such as:

• Ecology constraints
• Active residential new-build development
• Presence of contaminants, including asbestos
• Environmental considerations (noise, dust and vibration)
